Main registration Center will be at Kilifm Botanical Garden in Moshi Municipality, Kilimanjaro region. Other centers will be established at other regions in Tanzania and will be notified in this website. Registration at these centers will be conducted from June, 2016. No any registration will be allowed after expiring of these dates. Registration will start at 8.00am to 4.30pm

About the Marathon.
Kilifm International Tourism Half Marathon is a marathon
organized by the Kilifm Sports Centre a member of the National Sports Council
of Tanzania. This marathon is conducted once every year in the lower zone of
the Mt. Kilimanjaro, a free standing and crown of Africa. The runners will
enjoy the panoramic view of the mountain, fresh natural air which has not yet
polluted by industrial activities as well as the wonderful flora and fauna the
region has endowed.
year the Marathon is scheduled to take place at a high tourism summer season on
14th August 2016 and attracts massive response in participation from
local and international participants. There would be three categories of Marathon
as follows: Half Marathon (21.1km); Fun Run (5km).and 2.5 km for children below
10 years. The race is run on good tarred roads at an altitude
between 830 and 1150m asl under the panoramic view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, a crown

Half Marathon (21.1km)
Starts 6.00am at Kilifm Botanical Garden in Khambaita Rd and goes north for about 50m and then turn east to Angani road alongside Moshi Airport and proceed up to VETA institute for 1km and then turn east to a dirt road for about 600m and met the TPC tarmac road. The route turn south and goes for 2km up to the Fonga gate; then it proceed alongside the TPC sugarcane plantations for 9km up to Mtakuja and Newland junction and returning back on same road to the Kilifm Botanical Garden. http://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/21_km_kili_fm/7eTEpfPKIlhkjhjhj
Fun Run (5km)
The route passes at a full tarmac road. Starts at
7.00am at Kilifm Botanical Garden in Khambaita Rd and goes north for about 50m
and then turn east to Angani Rd alongside Moshi Airport and proceed for about
1.5km to SIDO then proceed north for about 300m up to Mariwa junction then turn
west for about 400m alongside Mvule St, and then turn north alongside Kiusa St
and proceed for about 800m to Ngiloi Petro Station and then proceed south
alongside Kawawa St for about 600m. The route then turns south for about 500m
up to Mariwa junction and returning back to Kilifm Botanical Garden. Click here
Kids Run (21/2km)
This is a full tarmac road. Starts at 7.30am at Kilifm Botanical Garden and goes north at Khambaita Rd for 1.25km and returning back on the same road up to the Kilifm Botanical Garden. (Enlarge the Google map for proper viewing).

1. There will be water points in all routes at an interval of 4 -5 km;
2. Car packing will be available at Kilifm Botanical Garden guarded by Secularms Security Company and other security companies;
3. Athletics will have access to rooms at Kilifm Botanical Garden for exchanging and keeping garments;
4. Ambulance services including first aid will be provided throughout the event;
5. Food of African cuisine mainly nyama choma (barbecues), snacks and variety of drinks will be available at Kilifm Botanical Garden for sale;
4. The runners will enjoy a very nice splendid atmosphere associated with a very attractive green environment;
5. An inauguration party for opening Marathon event will be conducted on the evening of 13th August, 2016.
This is a Gold Medal Winner KILIFM Marathon to be held during the summer at high tourist season. We expect to win a massive response in participation from local and international competitors.
The race will advocate and persuade people to STOP the environmental degradation of the seemingly endless elephant killings.
